How to set up a breakfast buffet?

Here are a few steps to help you create an attractive, practical and inviting breakfast buffet for your customers or guests.

Planning: Make sure you have enough space to allow customers or guests to move freely around the buffet. When choosing the menu, include a variety of options to cater for different tastes and dietary needs, such as vegetarian, gluten-free or other dietary requirements.

Buffet sections: set out coffee pots, teapots, jugs of fruit juice, water, milk, etc. If you are serving hot meals such as scrambled eggs, sausages or bacon, use chafing dishes to keep them warm. Add cold items such as yoghurt, fresh fruit, cheese and cold meats using refrigerated trays or displays. Display croissants, pains au chocolat, baguettes, a selection of breads and toast. Create a cereal and side dish section with muesli, granola, dried fruit, nuts and honey.

Aesthetic layout: use trays of different heights to add dynamism and make it easier to access the different foods. Clearly identify each food with small labels. Add fresh flowers and napkins.

Food preparation and presentation: Serve whole and sliced fruit for added convenience. Present pastries and breads in fabric-lined baskets for an elegant presentation. Keep hot food covered until customers or guests start to serve themselves. Prepare drinks just before breakfast starts so they stay hot or cold as needed.

Logistics: Place plates, bowls, cups and cutlery at the beginning of the buffet to make serving easier. Place napkins and condiments such as salt, pepper and sugar in several places. Make sure you have enough to replenish dishes quickly.

General organisation: Provide staff to replenish dishes and keep the buffet clean throughout the service.

Delivery times: Buffet Plus will dispatch your order within 24 to 48 hours if the product is in stock, otherwise it will generally take 10 working days. Free delivery in Metropolitan France for orders over 300 euros VAT Excl., or collection at our plant with an appointment (we do not have a retail shop).
